Materials:
115 Yards White 6 MM Bonnie Braid Macrame cord
66 Yards Royal 6 MM Bonnie Braid Macrame cord
71 Yards Red  6 MM Bonnie Braid Macrame cord
1 Aluminum Wood Arm Chair
2 Q Hooks

STEP 1: Do 78 Vertical wrap cords with White

UPPER CHAIR BACK STAR DIRECTIONS:

STEP 2: Start horizontal cords. First cut a 17 yard piece of royal cord to be used for the field of stars. With the chair back facing you, tilt the chair back into your lap so you are working on the front of the chair. Attach the blue cord to the chair on your right with a square knot and attach the red cord to the left with a square knot.

STEP 3: Now begin doing horizontal rows as follows:

ROWS 1 & 2: Weave double red cord from left to right over 6 and under 6 until the vertical 43rd – 48th row.

**IMPORTANT NOTE: In this section you will be bringing a single blue cord to meet the double red on every row, putting the blue cord thru the red then lacing the blue cord back to the frame.

From the right side, bring 1 strand of blue cord to meet the red cord. Put the blue strand thru the loop of the red cord and bring it back to the right side. Put tension on both the red & blue cord & hook the blue cord to the right side of the chair frame. (Make sure where the red & blue cords meet is hidden behind back of the 6 vertical white cords. See Fig. A). Hook the red cord to the left side.

ROWS 3 & 4: Us the same pattern as in previous step, making sure that the blue cord is put through the red cord from the top down every time. Keep cords straight.

ROWS 5 & 6: Weave red over 6 & under 6 until vertical row 43-48. This time the single blue strand will be woven over 4 once, then under 2 & over 6 repeatedly, ending with going over 4 once, where it meets the red. Put the blue strand through the red and weave it back so it matches the same pattern you just did.

Attach to the side bar.

From now on, the red cords for each row in this section will be woven in the same pattern of over 6 under 6 towards the center to meet the blue cords.

DIRECTIONS BELOW FOR BLUE CORDS:

ROW 7: Blue cord not woven, just brought across all cords to the meeting spot, put it through the red loop.

ROW 8: Go back towards the right over 8 once, then under 2 & over 6 repeatedly, ending with over 8, then hook onto frame.

ROW 9: Weave Blue over 8 once, then under 2 & over 6 repeatedly ending with over 8 once to the red cord.

ROW 10: Repeat row 7.

Row 11 & UP: Follow the directions for Upper Chair Back Star Pattern below 4 times to complete the red, white and blue upper chair section.

Bracketed numbers are Over cords and Plain numbers are Under cords.
